The City Council, AICO, Abreca and Hosbec organize this contest again, which will be celebrated on December 26
The Christmas window dressing contest will distribute more than 11,000 euros this year among the participating establishments
One more year the Christmas window dressing contest goes faithfully to its appointment with the establishments of Benidorm. On this occasion, the event is organized by the city council, the merchants association (AICO), the bars, restaurants and cafeterias association (Abreca), and the hotels association (Hosbec). To this end, this morning the collaboration agreement between the parties was signed at the Town Hall.
The registration period for the contest has opened today and it can be formalized until Thursday, December 22. Registration can be done through the AICO, Abreca, and Hosbec websites and also at the headquarters of the three associations.
The windows must be fully assembled by the 22nd at the latest. A day later, on Friday the 23rd, the jury will meet and on the 26th, Monday, the awards ceremony will take place.
For this year, three awards have been established for each of the three categories: restaurants, shops, and hotels. The first prize in each category will be 2,000 euros, the second will receive 1,000 euros, and the third 500 euros.
In addition, there will be two special prizes, of 250 euros each, for the associated trade and the associated restaurant. Similarly, all establishments registered in the contest will enter the draw for a Christmas basket valued at 250 euros. In total, the Christmas window dressing contest will distribute 11,250 euros.
One of the objectives of the organizing associations is for the contest campaign to be viral and to support the Beninadal municipal initiative. For this reason, each participating establishment must upload a photograph with its already decorated shop window to their social networks.
Both the representatives of the three associations and the Councilor for Commerce, Lorenzo Martínez, have expressed their conviction that there will be "high participation" in the contest and have encouraged all establishments in the city to participate.
