The traditional 'Burial of the Sardine' closed last Carnival 2018. This humorous passacaglia organized by the Association of Penyes Verge del Sofratge brought together several hundred supporters and neighbors who, as a funeral procession and accompanied with a small band, toured the center of Benidorm to give the last goodbye to 'the sardine', that close to midnight succumbed to the flames on the sand of Poniente beach
In this act that closes the Carnival and announces the proximity of Easter participated, among others, the first deputy mayor, Ana Pellicer; the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; the president of l'Associació de Penyes, Dani Luque; the queen of the Festes Majors Patronals, Fátima Carrobles.
