Members of the municipal corporation, headed by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and by the Councilor for Equality, Paquita Ripoll; municipal workers; and residents of Benidorm today have shown their rejection of the latest episode of gender violence recorded last Friday in Vitoria (Álava) and that has claimed the lives of two women.
The victims, a 43-year-old woman and her 69-year-old mother, were allegedly killed by the former couple. After killing both women, the man set fire to the house and later threw himself into the void, although he did not suffer significant injuries when falling on a canvas arranged by the Firemen.
So far this year, ten women have been killed by their partners or former partners.
