Benidorm reiterates its NO to sexist violence after the fourteenth crime in 2020

Benidorm reitera su NO a la violencia machista tras el décimo cuarto crimen en 2020

Benidorm has reiterated this noon its strongest rejection of sexist violence with a minute of silence in memory of the woman who lost her life yesterday in Posadas, Córdoba.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, have spearheaded the concentration in which the councilors of the three municipal political groups, public workers and neighbors have also participated.

On this occasion a 67-year-old woman who has allegedly suffered the attack of her ex-partner, 69, who has subsequently attempted suicide without success. With this, there are already fourteen victims of gender violence and eight orphaned minors in what we have been this year. In total, 1,047 women have died from this cause since 2003, the year in which the statistics began to be counted.

The Department of Equality of Benidorm City Council makes available to all women who feel threatened all their services and all their specialized staff. In addition, remember the convenience of using the telephone number against gender violence, 016, which serves 52 languages, leave no trace on the telephone bill, although it is recommended to delete it from the call log of landlines or mobile phones .
