The award ceremony will take place on November 19 at a Gala of the Higher Sports Council in Madrid
Benidorm, receives the CSD-BeActive award at the European Sports Week
On the occasion of the 7th European Sports Week, an initiative of the European Commission to combat sedentary lifestyles, the Higher Sports Council organized a video contest on Social Networks, lasting up to a minute and a half, where the participating municipalities explained the activities and sports facilities where sports could be practiced and, in turn, promote the European Sports Week (SED) which ran from 23 to 30 September.
The European Week of Sport is celebrated simultaneously in all the member countries of the EU and others on the continent, which have been added since 2015, reaching up to 42 countries to join in the 2020 edition.
Three prizes were established per category of municipalities based on the number of inhabitants and the video made by the Sports Department of the Benidorm City Council has obtained the 2nd prize in the category of municipalities from 20,001 to 100,00 inhabitants, obtaining the other two prizes from the category the cities of Teruel and Mahón.
The Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, has expressed her satisfaction with the award and confirmed Benidorm's attendance at the awards ceremony to be held in Madrid, at the Higher Sports Council, next November. Cebreros has highlighted "the participation of young people in the European Sports Week, the involvement of the Sports Department of Benidorm City Council in promoting all sports activities in the city" and, in the case of the object of the award, by competition , "The quality of the video presented, the media impact and the likes achieved, also highlighting the 1,800 views and the number of times it has been shared, which has made Benidorm worthy of this second award".
The award, CSD-BeActive21, of the campaign 'BeActive for Sports, has been achieved by Benidorm, through its promotional video and its acceptance on Social Networks, in the opinion of the jury for highlighting security aspects (Covid-19 Protocols), attractive offer, image quality, likes, originality and plastic richness.
The awards ceremony on November 19, in Madrid, will be attended by the SED'21 Ambassadors, authorities and prominent members of the Superior Sports Council and the delegations of the 15 awarded municipalities in the 5 categories of city rank.
