El Torrejó Municipal Center will host next week the II Formative Action of the Municipal Commitment to Accessible Tourism, which is organized by the Tourism department of Benidorm City Council. Like the previous action carried out in November-December 2021, it is also aimed at representatives of companies in the tourism sector dedicated to hotel accommodation, campsites, tourist housing, transport, guides, travel agencies and leisure time monitors.

It will take place on March 8 and 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., framed in the general objectives of Benidorm City Council on the need to inform, raise awareness and train professionals in the tourism sector on issues related to Accessible Tourism in collaboration with PREDIF and PREDIF Valencian Community. The trainers will be Miguel Carrasco (director of PREDIF tourism department), Yolanda Ruiz González (member of PREDIF CV board of directors and Vice President of Aspaym Comunidad Valenciana) and Iván López Guerrero, accessible tourism technician and PREDIF management assistant.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, will inaugurate on Tuesday the 8th the work sessions that will focus on the concept, regulations and strategy to favour and promote Accessible Tourism, and the TUR4all platform will be maintained. The experiences of the users will complete the day that they will take place on the 9th with everything related to the attention of customers with accessibility needs and a practical workshop.

Pérez has highlighted the importance of this training action and recalled the importance of universal accessibility, one of the DTI's main points. Benidorm said the mayor, “works a lot in this field and has recently received recognition at FITUR for its promotion of accessible tourism”. Pérez welcomed the fact that “Benidorm has been highlighted as an example to follow by the State Platform for People with Physical Disabilities”

The contents of the training will be available on the Virtual Campus of PREDIF, after the completion of the training action. Attendees will receive the relevant accreditation of attendance and a certificate of completion of the training received at the end of the two sessions.
