Benidorm plenary session approves a budget modification worth 972,000 euros for the execution of various projects
Benidorm City Council has approved today by the majority -with the favorable votes of the government team and the abstention of the socialist group and Ciudadanos- a budget modification worth 972,198.83 euros to deal with various necessary investments and changes in certain projects already ongoing.
Specifically, according to the Councilor for Finance, Aida García Mayor, the modification affects actions that are being carried out or have to be carried out. The first of these is related to Education and the need to increase the endowment to finish the certifications of completion of the work of the multipurpose pavilion of the Leonor Canalejas school, for a value of 299,216 euros.
On the other hand, there is the work to expand the cemetery, the execution of which has changed to adapt to the requirements of the Ministry of Public Works and the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation, which represents an increase of 307,383 euros.
88,487 euros will also be allocated to deal with the rehabilitation project of the Huerto de Colón after the Provincial Council of Alicante has granted a subsidy. Similarly, the Department of Equality has requested an amount of 24,909 euros for actions against gender violence, and the IT department another 136,705 euros for equipment supply. Finally, the amount of two EDUSI projects have also been redistributed in such a way that one of them has increased by 115,096 euros by lowering the other for the same amount. "All the modifications are justified and argued by the municipal technicians" stated the councilor.
Extrajudicial recognition of credit has also been approved by a majority to make the payment of a list of invoices for a value of 351,309 euros, which is mostly due to the delay in presenting them to the suppliers. García Mayor explained that "the objective is to ensure that City Hall providers collect their invoices, even if they are not presented promptly."
In the same session, the start of the procedure for granting distinctions and decorations by the Generalitat Valenciana to two local police officers from Benidorm was unanimously approved, specifically the public congratulations to the agents Cyntia Romero and Marcos Perles for their intervention on the 22nd of January, who managed to save the life of a citizen who was unconscious on the ground, without a pulse, proceeding to carry out resuscitation maneuvers until the arrival of the health services.
In this sense, the initiation of the procedure to grant the Distinction of the Cross for Police Merit with a blue badge to agent Jesús López Moreno for "excelling with notoriety and perseverance in the fulfillment of the duties of his position, having rendered more than ten years of service in the Local Police and having two public congratulations individually”, according to the proposal.
