The mayor, Toni Pérez, explained that "the City Council has open now these roads, which had been completed for some time, after the Ministry of Industry has authorized the electricity supply to service public lighting and, consequently, the opening of the new sector can be carried out with all the guarantees ”. An opening, he specified, that "comes at a time when we are promoting the generation of new pedestrian spaces to be used for walking and practicing sports in safe conditions during the times authorized for this by the Government of Spain".
Thus, the mayor recalled that in previous weeks "we have pedestrianized La Armada Española Avenue, the final section of Sant Pere street and also Greco street; and opened the new roads included in Poniente Action Unit 1, such as Guatemala Avenue or the extension of Rajarell Avenue in front of the promenade ”.
Toni Pérez has indicated that the new open roads and green areas now correspond to the urbanization of Murtal II sector, which will connect with the Partial Plan 2/1 Poniente whose "works will begin in the coming months and which will allow the completion of El Moralet and the urban area of Poniente located between the promenade and Vicente Pérez Devesa avenue, improving considerably the connection between the two areas ”.
