Benidorm launches an information campaign with advice so that tourists have “the best vacation”
The panels will be located at the 30 accesses to the beaches, bus stops and information screens and a thousand posters will also be distributed in the establishments.
This Wednesday, Benidorm City Council launched a very visual information campaign with tips to improve tourists' stay and experience in the town. With the slogan 'Your best holidays in Benidorm', the campaign includes, in Spanish and English, different health recommendations related to heat and high temperatures and safety matters to avoid being a victim of illegal practices. Mayor Toni Pérez has presented the campaign on Levante Beach and will continue throughout the summer, with reinforcements at specific times. Along with the first mayor, the councillors of Public Service and Beaches, Jesús Carrobles and Mónica Gómez, and other representatives of the Corporation, also participated in the presentation.
The information panels are already visible on many bus stop shelters, posters, lighting boxes and screens. In addition, they will also be placed at the 30 accesses to the beaches of Levante, Poniente and Mal Pas; A thousand posters will be distributed in accommodations, shops and leisure and restaurant establishments; and will be enhanced with presence on social networks and other media.
All this, to get the message to the greatest number of tourists.
Toni Pérez explained that this campaign aims to “inform tourists” about actions to avoid getting the most out of their stay related to health and safety. Thus, it is recommended not to do physical exercise during the middle hours of the day and warn of the danger of leaving children, elderly people or pets inside a vehicle.
In terms of security, the campaign refers to the practice of the shell game and informs tourists that it is not a game and, therefore, not to be fooled by those who encourage them to participate in this illegal activity. They are also warned that the sale of drinks without health control is a danger to health and that people who may offer them drinks on the beaches should not be trusted, since such consumption lacks any guarantee or health control. Finally, visitors are advised to keep an eye on their personal belongings in crowded spaces or leave valuables and the original documentation at the hotel and take a photocopy.
The mayor advanced that all the data with which the City Council itself and other tourist agents in the city work indicate that "we are facing a year of great activity and in which we are going to exceed the occupancy data of the best historical period" and, of course, those of 2019.” Given this, he has indicated that "we continue to implement everything that contributes to making a summer more pleasant, more comfortable and also safer for all those who visit us."
Toni Pérez has highlighted that, in addition to the collaboration of the Departments of Citizen Security and Beaches, this campaign “we have also prepared and developed with the concessionaire company of comprehensive services in the management of our beaches” and that “it is now available from all over the world so that these tips help us to have a more peaceful vacation, which in the end is one of the objectives that every person pursues when they want to enjoy the best beaches in the world, those of Benidorm, in one of the best cities and destinations in the world such as Benidorm and with maximum tranquillity.”
For his part, councillor Jesús Carrobles recalled that the City Council has reinforced the police presence on the beaches for the summer season, "significantly increasing the number of troops assigned to surveillance" of the sandy areas. A surveillance in which, in addition to the 30 police officers that make up the Beach Section of the Local Police, there will be a reinforcement of 30% of troops in each of the shifts and that will be carried out "not only on the beach and in the promenades, but also from the water and the air thanks to the zodiac and drone service.” The Local Police will also be joined by reinforcements that the National Police Corps will also deploy during the summer campaign.
The person in charge of Public Service concluded by pointing out that "the Local Police will continue to act and pursue unauthorized practices on the beaches."
