Benidorm invests 16,000 euros in the installation of artificial grass in various areas to improve the public decoration of the city
Benidorm City Council has invested 16,000 euros in improving the image of some locations in the city. Specifically, the intention is to improve the public decoration of different scattered areas of the municipality, which do not allow the installation of gardening due to its difficult maintenance, lack of irrigation lines or high pedestrian traffic.
For this, improvement works have been made based on the supply and installation of artificial grass "to achieve a more pleasant and friendly image of the environment," explained the Councilor for Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate.
The works cover an area of 700 square meters, including the garden at the junction of Pescadores and Vent streets, the roundabout of Severo Ochoa and Otto de Habsburgo, Paseo de Colón roundabout, the roundabout of Marina Baixa Avenue, Asturias streets, the central reservation of Europa Avenue "and others that may arise until the proposed supply is completed."
González de Zárate has indicated that these actions respond "to the objective of this government to continue investing in the improvement of the image of the city". The councillor has pointed out that the implantation of artificial grass is due to the fact that "it is the best solution for areas in which gardening has a more complicated maintenance".
The execution period was set at twenty days for the installation of a recyclable, bacteria-free, non-toxic artificial grass with a minimum guarantee of five years.
The execution of these works has been awarded to a company due to the limited municipal resources in terms of machinery and specific personnel for these tasks.
