Benidorm hosts a concert of Los 40 solidarity with Vega Baja on 11th Monday in Patron Saint Festivities

Benidorm acoge el lunes de Festes Majors Patronals un concierto de Los 40 solidario con la Vega Baja

Admission is free and you can collaborate by sending DANA to 28092 or with Row 0. The funds will be managed by Cruz Roja Alicante

Benidorm will host on Monday, November 11, coinciding with the celebration of the Festes Majors Patronals, a concert of Los 40 in solidarity with Vega Baja and with which it is intended to raise funds to help those affected by the heavy rains last September. The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; the president of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals, Roberto Carretero; the director of Los 40 Benidorm, Baldomero Giménez; the vice president of the Red Cross Alicante, Remedios Alarcón; and Tony Aguilar, presenter of the famous radio-station, today have presented the details of this free concert that will bring together 14 artists.

Toni Pérez has pointed out that “coinciding with the most festive moment and, therefore, expected of the year for people of Benidorm, we will have the opportunity to show that we are not only the European tourist capital of the sun and beach, but that we are also a solidarity city , which once again responds, that mobilizes and helps those who are going through difficulties, in this case our neighbors of the sister region of Vega Baja who suffered the hard consequences of DANA last September and, in many cases, they have lost their homes, their belongings, or their livelihood. ” "We want to contribute - he added - that their lives return to normal."

As explained by the mayor, to "channel this help an SMS service has been launched so that anyone can collaborate from anywhere in Spain, sending DANA to 28092". With each SMS “1.20 euros will be donated to the Red Cross of Alicante, which is the organization that will be in charge of distributing this aid among those affected by the storm”. In addition, a Row 0 will be enabled for those who want to make direct contributions for other amounts in a Red Cross bank account: ES76 0049 2318 91 2114395134.

The director of the radio station has explained that in view of the floods suffered by La Vega Baja, we wanted to “go around” the concert 'Los 40 Benidorm Pop' that was going to be presented for Major Patron Festivities and provide it with “a social background " Giménez thanked the City Council and the Comisió de Festes Majors Patronals for their collaboration to celebrate this event, which will be presented by broadcaster Tony Aguilar.

Precisely the presenter has participated today from Madrid in the press conference through a video call, ensuring that this event “will be the envy of virtually any municipality in Spain at their parties, because we will have a great display of artists, a incredible poster: the 'crème de la crème' of pop right now and what people have demanded the most in recent weeks through social networks ”. Aguilar said that "we will have a great time" during the concert, scheduled at 23.30 in the Plaza SSMM Reyes de España and that will bring together renowned artists such as Dani Fernández, Alba Reche, Miki Núñez, Ana Mena, Famous, Xuso Jones, Pol Granch and Nil Moliner; with other emerging ones like Lemot, Maybe, Unique, Safree, Samuel and Chico Malo.

For his part, the president of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals has said that it is an “important event” because “while bringing a great event for Benidorm and the Fiestas, it is a solidarity concert” to help those affected by the DANA in La Vega Baja. A region currently immersed "in the reconstruction phase, which is the most difficult and long," said the vice president of the Red Cross, who added that all help is welcome.

From today until the day of the concert, the number for sending the solidarity SMS is enabled.
