More than 800 karatekas will participate, from benjamin to juniors and around 4,000 spectators will fill the Palau
Benidorm, home of the 2018 Spanish Karate Children's Championship
This morning has been presented the fortieth edition of the Spanish Championship of Karate Children 2018, which will be held at the Palau d'Esports l'Illa de Benidorm on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 April. A sporting event organized by the Royal Spanish Federation of Karate and Associated Disciplines RFK, with the collaboration of the regional federation, the City Council and promoted by Fundación Trinidad Alonso.
The Councilor for Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, has presented the championship accompanied by the president of the Royal Spanish Federation of Karate, Antonio Moreno, and the president and vice president of the Valencian, Miguel Ángel Gómez and Francisco González. In his speech, Cabrillo said that "Benidorm is ready to take on new challenges, to offer new proposals and to continue adding organizational successes with an infallible formula: sports, coexistence and tourism." The mayor has taken the opportunity to invite neighbors and visitors "to enjoy this unbeatable sporting event", which has underlined "will host more than 800 participants of all categories", from benjamin to youth. Cabrillo did not miss the opportunity to congratulate the federation "for these first 40 years of success" and thanked the choice of Benidorm for its celebration.
Base of Spanish karate and Olympic futures
Antonio Moreno has described as "real pleasure" to be able to celebrate the championship in Benidorm in which "the base of the karate" Spanish and "the future Olympians" will meet because "at some point that opportunity will come to the boys". Moreno has emphasized that karatekas from all the Spanish autonomies will participate, plus the autonomous city of Ceuta. "An event -has underlined- very important for the sport" where the best of the country will compete "some kids who will look like real adults but in small".
For his part, Miguel Ángel Gómez was very satisfied because the Valencia Region will host a championship of Spain "very coveted by my colleagues presidents of other communities" and announced that the presence of up to 4,000 people in the Palau is expected, an incentive for Benidorm "and also for the Region because our image and our prestige will be there".
