14 December 2023
Fest

The two semi-finals will be on January 30 and February 1, while the final will be on February 3

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and Councilor for Events, Jesús Carrobles, participated this Thursday in Madrid in the presentation of the 16 songs that will participate in the third edition of Benidorm Fest to win the Bronze Microphone and be able to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest. The press conference in which the topics were announced, directed by the director of Participation and Communication of Spanish Radio Television (RTVE), María Eizaguirre, has had the participation of almost all the artists selected for this edition, except for two who are outside Spain due to professional commitments, as well as with the co-directors of the Benidorm Fest, Ana María Bordas and César Vallejo, and it has been broadcast live through RTVE Play.

The mayor of the city has highlighted that, with the dissemination of the selected songs, "we take another step towards the celebration of a Benidorm Fest that, with only two editions, has come to revolutionize the musical panorama of our country, reaping also many awards and recognitions” and has trusted that this third edition “will serve to consolidate it as one of the great musical events of the year.” Likewise, Toni Pérez has reiterated once again that this contest is “one of the great bets of this government team and our city” and has conveyed his congratulations “to the organization and all the participants” for the level of the compositions.

The songs that will compete to be the winners of the contest cover a wide variety of musical genres, from urban rhythms to pop, pop-rock, Latin music, melodic or electronic sounds. For this reason, both Pérez and Carrobles have agreed that all of this will allow “us to be able to experience three great galas, with many scenographic proposals and spectacular.” Likewise, the Councilor for Events has also highlighted that among the cast of artists who will star in the 'Fest' "there is also a lot of diversity: from new artists to others with long careers in the world of music and with fame behind them", which in his opinion “guarantees that the festival will once again generate a lot of interest from the public, as also demonstrated by the speed with which tickets are being sold.”

The songs and artists selected as finalists for the Benidorm Fest are: Miss Caffeina, with 'Bla, blah, bla'; Yoly Saa, with 'No se me olvida'; the singer and composer from Villena Almácor, with 'Brillos platino'; Angy Fernández, with 'Sé quien soy'; Dellacruz, with the song 'Bésame por la mañana'; Jorge González, with 'Caliente'; Lérica, which presents 'Astronauta'; Mantra trio, of which Carlos Marco from Alicante is a part, with 'Me vas a ver'; María Peláe, with the song 'Remitente'; Marlena, with her 'Amor de verano'; Nebulossa, with 'Zorra'; Noan and her song 'Te echo de menos'; Quique Niza, with 'Prisionero'; Roger Padrós, who presents the song in Valencian 'El temps'; Sofía Coll, singing the English title 'Here to stay'; and finally, st. Pedro, with 'Dos extraños'. All of them can be listened to on the Benidorm Fest website and starting at midnight tonight they will also be on the main streaming music platforms.

Benidorm Fest will celebrate its two semi-finals on January 30 and February 1, while the grand final gala will be on February 3. Likewise, RTVE has announced today that the programming will be completed with a 'Euroclub' party, which will take place on January 31 at the 'Ku' nightclub, and a free concert scheduled for February 2 in the Plaza de la Hispanidad, as well as a new edition of the 'Tapa Fest' for local hospitality establishments that want to participate. In addition, the public who cannot get a ticket to see the competition from Palau d'Esports but want to experience the competition here, in Benidorm, will also be able to follow the galas live from the screens that will be installed at the Tecnohito.
