Benidorm Expone estrena su tercera edición de fotografía con una exposición colectiva en espacios públicos y urbanos

'Benidorm Exposes' has launched today its third edition in the mode of photography. The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, accompanied by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, representatives of the municipal corporation and the artist Alicia Lamarca have toured today this collective photographic exhibition, which starts at Espai d'Art Urbà in El Carrasco and it is distributed in different streets of the town.

This outdoor exhibition has the name 'Life is a dream', it consists of 43 photographs of six prominent artists of different nationalities, and will remain on display until August 31.

Toni Pérez thanked Alicia Lamarca for her "creative ability to carry out ideas for Benidorm". "This is the third edition of 'Benidorm Exposes', a route through different spaces that welcomes the dreams of the different authors" has valued Pérez. Also, the mayor said that "the different cultural activities help raise awareness and create spaces of art open to the world in a large showcase that is our city."

For her part, Alicia Lamarca commented that "the central axis of the exhibition 'Life is a dream' is based on the different ways of conceiving and understanding this theme on the part of the artists", and has indicated that the exhibition "focuses on in the genre of the portrait ".

The artists participating in this exhibition are Andreas Karyofilis, who exhibits at l'Espai d'Art Urbà; Eugenio Recuenco, in the gardens of the City Hall; Vicente Albero, on Puente Street; Evija Laivina, on Dr. Pérez Llorca street; Silvia Grav, in El Torrejó; and finally, Miguel Vallinas, at Museu Boca del Calvari.

In 'Benidorm Exposes', Karyofilis participates with 'Berlin Dreams', a series of portraits of people who decided to move to the German city to fulfill a dream: to achieve a better future. Recuenco, on the other hand, presents the work '365º', where he creates some scenographies of imaginary situations of the days of the year. With 'Boys of the Copper', Albero shows a crude portrait of the reality of many children who work in the rubbish dumps to rescue copper and who, despite everything, maintain their capacity to dream even in the most unfavorable situations.

Vallinas, in turn, poses in 'Segundas Pieles' a work in which animals represent people from irony and sense of humor; while Grav delves into her own dreams and nightmares to create poetic and surreal images. Finally, Laivina presents 'Beauty Warriors', a reflection of how far the human being is able to reach his/her dreams of beauty at all costs.
