Benidorm exhibits its potential as a set at the Malaga Festival
Benidorm has been present these days at Malaga Film Festival, one of the main events on the national scene, showing the potential of the city as a set for all kinds of audiovisual productions. Benidorm Film Office has been part of the Valencian delegation invited to the industry section of the festival, MAFIZ, within a new section incorporated in 2022 for entities and producers of the Spanish territory, and the Valencian Community has been in charge of premiering.
Within the presentation led by Valencia Region Film and prepared jointly by the different filming offices in the region, Benidorm has provided its locations. In addition, reference has been made to the latest works shot in the Community with which Benidorm Film Office has collaborated actively, such as 'La Ruta', the second season of 'Paraíso', the first of 'El Inmortal' or the film "Mañana es hoy".
Likewise, some of the audiovisual projects that will soon stop in Benidorm have also been anticipated, among which are advertising campaigns and fiction series.
The presence at the Malaga Festival has also served to establish contacts with the industry and with specific projects that have set their sights on the city, as explained by the head of the Benidorm Film Office, Rosa Llorca.
Llorca has highlighted that "the activity of these days has been marked by the forthcoming reopening of the 'Ciudad de la luz' facilities, which will most likely act as a pole of attraction for large productions for the Valencian Community; a circumstance that will undoubtedly benefit all the 'film friendly' destinations, among which Benidorm occupies a very prominent place for its urban space, its natural environment, characteristics and weather ".
The Valencian delegation at the festival has been headed by the Regional Secretary for Culture, Raquel Tamarit. During the presentation in the Spain Territory, at the hands of the Institut Valencià de Cultura, the tax incentives offered by the Community have been exposed; or the short film broadcast program. The Regional television, the Valencian actors and actresses union, and the Valencian Audiovisual Academy have also been represented in the delegation.
