Benidorm celebrates the International Pride Day by illuminating the Castell with the colors of the rainbow flag
Benidorm's Castle will wear tonight the colors of the rainbow flag representative of the LGBTI + movement, in commemoration of the International Pride Day that is celebrated around the world on June 28, to give visibility to the claims of this group that extend to all the countries on the planet.
On the main balcony of the City Hall, the multicolored flag has been displayed in memory of the 1969 Stonewall Inn riots, in the New York neighborhood of Greenwich Village, which marked a turning point in the fight for the rights and civil liberties of lesbians, gays , bisexual, transsexual and intersex.
In addition, the municipal Espai d’Art hosts this morning ‘The Wall of Diversity’, work carried out in the training workshop on prevention in Sexual and Gender Diversity given by the councils of Social Welfare and Equality, led by the artist Kaufman. It is a structure painted in graffiti with cubes that simulate a ‘Wall of Diversity’ with the rainbow colors of the LGTBI + flag.
The students of TAPIS, CEM, CRIS and minors with judicial measures, as well as their educators, have participated in this workshop from June 21 to 25. The mural will also be on display this afternoon at Espai Jove.
On the other hand, until Wednesday June 30, you can participate in the photo contests on Instagram and videos on Tik Tok organized by the Councils of Social Welfare, Equality and Culture, on the occasion of this celebration, whose bases can be consulted in the Espai Jove.
