Benidorm City Council has already started the payment of the second consignment of the #BenidormTeDaMás campaign to the commercial establishments attached to it. Thus, in the last Local Government Board (JGL) it was agreed to approve the payments for those establishments that had uploaded the purchase receipts to the platform with their corresponding vouchers in the period between December 21 and 31 of that month of 2022. Specifically, in this second remittance, the payment of 1,455,150 euros has been ordered.

Thus, the City Council will pay a total of 2,071,010 euros to participating establishments, adding the 615,860 paid in the first remittance, which corresponded to the period between December 15 and 20.

With the data in hand, during the #BenidormTeDaMás campaign from December 15 to 31, 83,186 commercial actions have been carried out in which a consumption voucher was exchanged. Citizens registered in Benidorm over the age of 18 downloaded a total of 277,600 vouchers, of which 207,340 were exchanged, which meant an economic injection of 5,688,000 euros in local establishments.

The same data indicates that 45,530 registered citizens have used consumer bonds, which represents 71.45% of the total. In the recent campaign, 630 establishments took part, which meant a record of participation. The City Council's budget for the campaign amounted to 2.5 million euros.

The mayor Toni Pérez indicated in this regard that the campaign "has been a success" and highlighted that with this initiative "neighbors and the local productive fabric are favored, injecting economic liquidity and encouraging consumption at a particular time such as were Christmas holidays”.

Given the data, the mayor pointed out, "it is confirmed that the #BenidormTeDaMás campaigns have been an excellent formula to stimulate economic activity, achieving the double objective of helping families at a time of difficulty, marked by the increase in the price of energy and the shopping basket, and to reactivate commercial activity in the city”.

Pérez also recalled that "Benidorm was a pioneer" in these campaigns that "have been copied, with certain differences, in most towns in the province of Alicante."
