Benidorm allocates €8,000 to support cultural projects run by local organisations
Eligible organisations must have carried out activities in 2026, with grants capped at €1,000 per association
Benidorm City Council will once again allocate €8,000 to support cultural projects organised by local associations through a grant scheme launched by the Department of Culture. Councillor for Culture Jaime Jesús Pérez explained that the aim of the grants “is to help promote activities organised by Benidorm’s associations and encourage them to continue putting on events that complement the city’s municipal cultural programme”.
“Through this grant scheme, we support the year-round activities carried out by these organisations in our municipality for the enjoyment of their members, residents and visitors,” he added.
Jaime Jesús Pérez explained that local cultural organisations will be eligible to apply provided they have been registered with the City Council’s Register of Associations for at least one year, have objectives that include organising, promoting or publicising cultural activities in the city, and maintain a permanent, active premises or branch in Benidorm that is open to the public.
Under the terms approved by the Local Government Board, the maximum grant will be €1,000 per beneficiary. Eligible activities must be related to music, theatre, exhibitions, cinema, conferences and other cultural events.
The councillor also announced that the application period will open the day after the grant conditions are published in the Official Provincial Gazette (BOP). From that date, associations will have 15 working days to submit their applications and the required documentation.
Jaime Jesús Pérez highlighted the role of local organisations in further enriching Benidorm’s cultural life and encouraged them to take part in the grant scheme.
