El concept artista y diseñador villenero visita l’Espai d’Art Urbà Els Tolls en el que está expuesto su obra y avanza que volverá a Benidorm para participar en charlas en los IES

Next Friday the artists Paloma Marqués and Paloma Pérez will do a guided tour

Today, the artist Fran Ferri has visited l'Espai d'Art Urbà Els Tolls where, within the exhibition 'Iustración  Alicantina', hosts a compilation of illustrations made by the author during the pandemic and where he expresses his vision, experience, sensations and reflections from those first months of the health crisis. Ferriz has been accompanied, among others, by the Councilor for Historical and Cultural Heritage, Ana Pellicer, and the curator of the exhibition Alicia Lamarca.
Pellicer recalled that ‘Ilustración Alicantina’ is “a choral exhibition, included in‘ Benidorm Expone ’initiative, and in which consecrated artists and with a consolidated and highly recognizable career come together, such as Fran Ferriz or Arly Jones; with emerging artists in this discipline with very relevant works such as Paloma Marqués and Paloma Pérez ”.
During the visit, the concept artist and designer explained the process of creating the series, which includes the illustrations on display, all signed in London and recently compiled into a book. Thus, Ferri has reported that "while I was lock down I decided that I needed to occupy the time and I was publishing an illustration every day for 60 days", a formula also designed to "entertain people who were having difficult times."
These illustrations, he has deepened, "are counting moods, things that have been happening", becoming "a memory of the pandemic."
After visiting l ’Espai d’ Art, Ferri indicated that “it is the first time” that his work has been exhibited “at street level”; and he has stated that “it is a format that I like a lot” since it is “very interesting and more accessible” to find the sample “while you walk”.
A perception that the artists who have previously exhibited at the Espais d'Art Urbà agree with, as confirmed by the curator of the exhibition, who has ensured that “when they see the format and size in which their work is exhibited , at street level and in the context of the city, everyone is very surprised ”.
The Councilor for Historical and Cultural Heritage thanked Ferri for his visit to Benidorm and “above all that he wanted to get even more involved in the project by participating in future talks at the Secondary Education Institutes (IES) of the city to bring the illustration, the art and the process of creation to the younger population ”.
Next Friday, December 3, the artists Paloma Marqués and Paloma Pérez will visit Benidorm, whose proposal in ‘Ilustración Alicantina’ can be seen in l’Espai d’Art Urbà Ponent.
