On July 1, a new edition of this initiative begins, aimed at boosting the offer in this area of Benidorm
Artisans and artists return to the Old Town in ‘Les Nits del Castell’
One more summer, artists and artisans return to the Old Town of Benidorm in 'Les Nits del Castell', an initiative of the Department of Commerce "aimed at boosting the offer of an area as emblematic of our city as the historic center", as as pointed out by the councillor of the department, Lorenzo Martínez.
Starting this Thursday, July 1, Plaza del Castelar will host painters, including 2 portraitists, 6 cartoonists and a landscape painter, who will remain in this location, the prelude to the Castell, until September 30.
In the nearby Plaza de La Senyoria the artisans will be located, all of them with the corresponding accreditation that certifies that their products are made by hand. Among the stalls are jewelry in sterling silver and precious stones, miniatures and hair clips made of resin and silver, leather and steel jewelry, cold porcelain ornaments, handmade soaps, macramé, crafts with marine crystals and beads, or leather necklaces and precious stones.
In addition, Benidorm Association for the Disabled (ASMIBE) will have a stand where it will display fans, bookbinding and leather goods. The position of a local craftsman who is dedicated to making original clocks with different shapes and materials will also be installed again: wood, sheet metal, plastics, zamak, glass, etc; as well as an artisan from Benidorm who works with polymer clay: necklaces, earrings and bracelets made of mother-of-pearl and sea shells.
The artisans come from municipalities such as Benidorm, Finestrat, Villajoyosa, La Nucía, Alfaz del Pí and Alicante will be in Plaza de La Senyoria until September 15, from 7:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Martínez pointed out that "as last year, for this edition of‘ Les Nits del Castell ’all current health security measures will be observed, set out in the regional regulations on non-sedentary sales markets."
The councillor has invited “residents and tourists to come during the summer nights to the Castell and its surroundings to learn more about the work of these artisans and artists, and spend a pleasant evening enjoying all the commercial and hospitality offerings existing in the Old Town ”.
