The 158 new requests attended, corresponding to remittance number 20, will receive 132,250 euros
Approved a new remittance of aid to families
The Commission for the Assessment of Aid to Families for Covid-19 has made the proposal for remittance number 20 and the local Government Board today has approved an item of 137,250 euros, charged to the current budget, to attend to 146 requests and 12 resources for aid applicants.
The amounts benefited range between 600 and 1,350 euros and are adjusted to the bases of April 14, 2020.
On August 28, Benidorm City Council injected € 500,000 to the chapter of municipal aid to families, the purpose of which is to mitigate the economic and social effects derived from the Covid-19 crisis and to attend to pending requests of resolution since practically On that date, the 1.4 million euros originally earmarked for these grants had already been used up, which with today's remittance have already reached almost 1,600 families.
The mayor already announced then that another half a million euros of endowment will still be necessary to reach twice the number of families currently served, which are the most affected, according to the forecasts of the Family team. With these contributions, the municipal investment in this concept will reach 2.4 million euros.
The direct aid to families is a commitment of Benidorm City Council Government team that is in addition to the initiatives that have been developed by the municipal executive since minute one of the social and economic crisis generated by the pandemic and that have already been also materialized in deferral of payments and fractioning of them for licenses and settlements issued by the City Council, the suspension of the collection of receipts for educational and sports municipal services as well as in the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles (ITVM) the rate of garbage receipts have not been issued.
The aid granted today, remittance 20, is aimed at people or family units that do not have sufficient income to meet the expenses derived from the current emergency situation. The grants are granted for a period of three months and the monthly amount will be 200 euros for the coexistence unit formed by one person, to which 50 euros will be added for each more member of the aforementioned unit.
