25 women completed the feat after a final 30-kilometer stage that ended at the foot of the church of Santiago de Padrón

The Anemona rowers complete their challenge by arriving in Iria Flavia after rowing 1,600 kilometers

Las remeras de Anémona culminan su desafío con su llegada a Iria Flavia tras remar 1.600 kilómetros

The Benidorm Self-Help Group for Women with Breast and Gynaecological Cancer (Anémona) has completed a new challenge, adding to the challenges it has undertaken in previous years. This time, it was the first pilgrimage to Iria Flavia, which began on September 9th at the Yacht Club's ergos and ended on Saturday, October 11th, after rowing a total of 1,600 kilometres.

The Anémona rowers completed the final leg by rowing a boat along the Arousa estuary to reach Iria Flavia, paddling 30 kilometres in five stages: Cabo da Cruz (Boiro), Playa de la Retorta (Boiro), Playa de las Conxas (Rianxo), Catoira, the Vilarello river beach, and Iria Flavia, right at the foot of the Church of Santiago de Padrón, after completing the distance in eight hours and with many emotions.

The adventure, which began on the ergos of the Yacht Club with councillors Ángela Zaragozí and Javier Jordá, continued for 1,600 kilometres until finishing on Saturday, a stage that lasted from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with 24 women participating in the feat. Among them, and especially, were the 15 women affected by breast cancer, who enjoyed the support of their colleagues and the collaboration of five Galician rowers from the Cabo da Cruz Rowing Club. All of this was complemented by logistical support from the club and the municipality of Boiro, represented by its Councillors for Tourism and Sports, María Outeiral and Marcos Fajardo, who welcomed the Benidorm rowers.
