The Moors and Christians parade brings together several thousand people in the streets of Benidorm

The third day of the Moors and Christians Parade in Benidorm brought thousands of people to the city centre last night to enjoy the most crowded event of the festivities, the Moorish and Christian Entry, one day before the end of the festivities.
Shortly before 8:00 p.m., Tomás Ortuño Street, where it meets Ondulada Street, was bustling with members of the parades and musicians preparing to parade in the central event of the festivities. On the Moorish side were Nazaríes, Tuaregs, Muslim Tagarinos, and Benidarhims; on the Christian side, Cavallers of the Baronia and Crusaders. The Moorish side, incidentally, was reinforced by the "filà" (fila) formed by the Queen of the Patron Saints' Festival, Paula Pascual, and her ladies-in-waiting.
In the official gallery on Pal Street were Mayor Toni Pérez, Councillor for Fiestas Mariló Cebreros, and several members of the local council, along with the president of the Moors and Christians Association, Arturo Mira, the president of the Commission for Major Patronal Festivals, Susana Martínez, and representatives of festival organisations. The child queen, Aitana Pérez, and her entourage also enjoyed the parade throughout.
On the floats, the most important representatives of the 2025 festivals, the Moorish queen, María Lourdes Corrales, paraded before the attentive gaze of residents and tourists. She was preceded by the Moorish squads, with a leisurely pace, and behind her floated the Christian squads, with a more agile gait. In the middle, the marching bands.
The Moors and Christians festivities of Benidorm continue today, Sunday, with the Parliament of Peace, which takes place at noon at the castle located at Plaza de SS. MM. los Reyes de España. A text created by Pere Maria Orts i Bosch has been the focus of the announcement of the cessation of hostilities and the peaceful withdrawal of the Muslim side since 1990. The floral offering to Sant Jaume and Mass follows this. In the afternoon, at 8:00 p.m., the Retreta, parade, and float procession will begin, repeating the route of the entrance.
