Miguel Bernal and Julia Ruiz star in a new concert at the XII Benidorm International Organ Festival
The organist from Miguel Bernal and the soprano Julia Ruiz yesterday starred in a new concert at the 12th Benidorm International Organ Festival, an event that took place in the church of San Jaime, as usual, at 8 p.m. and which garnered a new and resounding success in filling the venue's capacity. The Councilors for Culture and Public Space, Jaime Jesús Pérez and Francis Muñoz, attended the recital, which raised applause from those present on many occasions.
Bernal is a senior organ professor and principal organist of the Cavaille-Coll organ of the Basilica of San Francisco el Grande in Madrid. Julia Ruiz, for her part, debuted in José Tamayo's company and has been a professor of Vocal Technique at the Higher School of Dramatic Art in Madrid. She is a singing teacher at the 'Teresa Berganza' Professional Conservatory in Madrid.
Their program included works by composers such as Hugo Wolf, Franz Lilszt, Gioacchino Rossini, Eduardo Torres, Eduard Toldrá and Joaquín Turina. Before the concert, the organist explained in detail some aspects of the works that would be performed to bring the program closer to the church audience.
