Mesón-Cervecería Cruz Blanca and Tapería Aurrerá get the main prizes of the IX edition of Tapas and Pinchos contest

For the ninth consecutive year, within the framework of  'Benidorm Gastronómico' events organized by Abreca and the Department of Tourism, the Tapas and Pinchos Contest was held, which took place between June 15 and 23 and in which 21 establishments of the city have participated. In the modality of Tapa / Pincho Original the winner has been Tapería Aurrerá with 'Puro habanero'; the best Tapa / Pincho Tradicional was the Mesón-Cervecería Cruz Blanca, cold cannelloni with avocado and steak tartar; and the 'Special Audience Award' was also for 'Puro Habanero' by Tapería Aurrerá.

The delivery of the diplomas has been held this afternoon at El Torrejó, an event that has brought together a number of local hospitality professionals and the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and other colleagues from the company with the president de Abreca-Cobreca (Association of Bars, Restaurants and Cafeterias of Benidorm), Javier del Castillo, and the godmother of Benidorm Gastronómico 2019, Trini Mas.

Each restaurant proposed a creation that has been voted on, on the one hand, by a professional jury and, on the other, by the general public. The public has been able to vote the culinary creations visiting the different establishments and tasting them. For this purpose, some ballot boxes were installed in the participating venues to deposit sealed pamphlets for at least 5 establishments. It has also been voted through the Gastroeventos APP.

In his speech, Toni Pérez commented that the Tapas and Pinchos Contest "puts into value the magnificent gastronomy of Benidorm by restaurateurs and establishments of the municipality." The edition has already finished, but it is important to "thank and congratulate the effort that each of the establishments have made", which are what make Benidorm possible for Benidorm Gastronómico brand, "a fundamental added value to the tourist offer of the city that has more and more recognition and that counts with the support of all the actors of the tourism sector and the local administration ", Pérez explained.

Awards

The first two (original and traditional) have been determined by a professional jury, while the winner of the Special Audience Award has been granted by vote of the attendees to the different establishments, and has been the result of the vote counting of the brochures introduced in the polls placed in them, and that meet the established requirements, plus the sum of the vote count of the Gastroeventos APP.

Next, a representative of the Gastroeventos application has proceeded to draw prizes for Gastroeventos users through the digitization of the leaflets delivered in the establishments. The first prize is a dinner for two people for those who voted through the app. The second prize is a two-night hotel stay for two people for all those who voted through the app. The third prize is a visit to Bocopa wineries for those who voted through the brochures. The fourth prize is a visit to the Enrique Mendoza wineries also for those who voted through brochures. Finally, I enter all those who have voted through brochures has been drawn with a dinner for two people.

Finally, the one-year free advertising prize in the Gastroeventos App has been delivered to Tapería Aurrerá establishment.
