L'Associació de Penyes organizes this Tuesday a solidarity day of blood donation

One more year the peñista collective will show its supportive side in a blood donation day organized by the Associació de Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge' in collaboration with the Transfusion Center of the Valencian Community and with the support of the Department of Fiestas. The councillor of the department, Jesús Carrobles, and the president of the Association, Ramón Cano, reported that this donation day "will be next Tuesday, the 23rd, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Town Hall ”.

Both explained that "extensive hours have been sought to make it as easy as possible for supporters clubs and the general population to participate in this solidarity initiative whose purpose is to save lives." Thus, they recalled that "with a blood donation up to three lives can be saved" and they have been convinced that "once again Benidorm will participate in this donation day, thus demonstrating their most altruistic and supportive side ”.

Carrobles pointed out that "the experience of previous years confirms that these conferences are always an opportunity to attract new donors who later attend other appeals that the Transfusion Center periodically carries out since blood needs remain constant throughout the year." Every day in the Valencian Community 250 units of blood are needed to meet the demand of hospitals

The requirements to donate are: to be between 18 and 65 years old, to be in good health, to come to the appointment well hydrated, to weigh more than 50 kilograms, and to carry an ID or driver's license. Once the donation is made, the participants will receive solid and liquid food.
