The Gran Hotel Balí de Benidorm has hosted the V WFDB Annual Meeting and the XI Helen Keller World Conferences since 19 June, which today marks the end of its days with the Closing Ceremony attended by the Mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez and the vice president of the Consell, Mónica Oltra.

More than five hundred deafblind people from 51 countries around the world have gathered during these days for their annual "global epicenter" of the struggle and visibility of the group of deafblind people, which has served to give voice and opportunity to sensitize and raise awareness in society of this disability, which is unique and has its own identity and culture.

The mayor of Benidorm, stressed that these days have served to achieve the objectives pursued by the group: "the right to universal accessibility through new technologies, adapting them to the needs to carry out their day to day. meaning, the city works to improve that accessibility, I hope you enjoyed our city. "

These days have served to learn about the services and experiences of deafblind people in other countries of the world, especially supporting those who have the necessary resources and fighting "for equality" among all of them.

An annual meeting to which FASOCIDE has invited Queen Letizia, honorary president of this organization, and which will close tomorrow with the commemoration of the International Day of the Deafblind and the 50th anniversary of the death of Helen Keller with an act in the Plaza de Sus Majestades Kings of Spain.
