Benidorm has condemned today the latest case of gender violence recorded on Monday in Zaragoza. Members of the municipal corporation of Benidorm, headed by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Equality, Paquita Ripoll; municipal workers; and neighbors have concentrated this afternoon at Plaza de Sus Majestades the Kings of Spain to observe a minute of silence as a sign of mourning for the victim, a 37-year-old woman allegedly murdered by her partner, who later turned herself in to the police.
With this are already 17 women killed by their partners or former partners so far this year. These violent deaths leave, in addition, 12 orphaned minors.
