The City Council opens registration for those registered in one of the ten sports offered next Monday, September 16
For the first time this year, the Municipal Sports Schools are incorporating a multi-sport programme
Non-registered residents will be able to sign up from the 20th
The Sports Department of the Benidorm City Council begins next Monday, September 16, the registration for registered residents in the activities scheduled in the Municipal Sports Schools and local clubs for the 2024-2025 academic year which, on this occasion, offer classes in ten different sports. The Councilor for Sports, Javier Jordá, has announced that "the great novelty for this year is the incorporation of the Multi-Sport School program that works so well in the summer sports schools and that will now be scheduled throughout the year, to bring physical and sports activity, in different areas and disciplines, to all the boys and girls of our city."
Javier Jordá has highlighted that, as on previous occasions, “the range of courses and activities offered by the Municipal Sports Schools is focused on initiation, seeking to promote healthy sports practice” among the population, both children and adults and has added that the courses “are aimed at audiences of different ages, to be able to reach the largest possible population”.
The courses scheduled for this year and which will be taught by the municipal sports instructors are Aquagym, Maintenance Gymnastics, Beach Gymnastics for adults and Swimming for adults, which will take place in the morning; and Sport for people with functional diversity, Multisport, Children's Swimming and Children's Skating, which will take place in the afternoon. In addition, there is also the offer for beginners to Paddle Tennis for adults and children and Tennis for adults, in both cases in the afternoon.
The Councillor for Sports has indicated that people registered in Benidorm will be able to register for any of these courses next Monday, the 16th, while those not registered will have to wait until Friday, September 20th, to be able to sign up. In both cases, the time for registration will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. if it is done in person – either at the premises of the Sports Department of the City Council, Palau d’Esports l’Illa de Benidorm or at the Administrative Extensions of Benidorm – or online, through the link https://deportesbenidorm.deporsite.net/inscripcion-actividades , following the instructions detailed, to complete the required documentation.
“Classes will start from October 1st and will last until May 31st, depending on the school calendar,” explained Javier Jordá. The councillor has stated that “the activities have a price that ranges between 15 and 25 euros, although there are also some free ones, such as Beach Maintenance Gymnastics”, while for those that have a fee “discounts are planned for large families, single-parent families, foster families, those with recognised disabilities or those who are beneficiaries of the guaranteed income of citizenship”.
Regarding the new Multi-Sport School activity, the councillor has explained that the programme includes pre-sports activities, such as Indoor Football, 8-a-side Football, Handball, Basketball, Tennis and Volleyball; native sports such as Valencian Pilota; and outdoor activities such as Cross Country, Mountain Bike and Orienteering Gymkhanas, which will take place in El Moralet. The classes will be held two days a week, divided by age: Mondays and Wednesdays for boys and girls born between 2016 and 2018, and Tuesdays and Thursdays for those born between 2015 and 2013.
