Hermanos Juan y Miguel Martínez Munuera and Nerea Pérez Machado football fields,  Guillermo Amor stadium, and Antonio López football fields are hosting the 22nd Mundiavocat, the World Cup for Lawyers, which is being held from the 9th to the 17th of this month. This competition, which has been held since 1983, has taken place in cities such as Split (Croatia), Antalya (Turkey), Dubai, and Budapest (Hungary) over its 21 previous editions, and this year boasts over 1,600 participants distributed across 93 teams from more than 40 countries.

The championship has several categories for both men and women in 5-a-side and 11-a-side football, as well as age groups. In the last edition, held in 2024, the Romanian team won the 5-a-side category, while Brazil won the women's. Greece won the 11-a-side Classic category, and Italy won the Master category. Romania won in the Legend category, and Italy triumphed in the Super Legend category.

The opening ceremony was held yesterday at Óscar Esplá Auditorium, where all participating delegations paraded. The group stage will be played from May 10th to 12th, and a dinner show will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Benidorm Palace. May 13th will be a rest day, and the final stages will begin on the 14th. The semifinals in the various categories will be held on Friday, the 15th, and the finals on Saturday, the 16th. That same Saturday, at 9:00 PM, the closing ceremony will take place at the Penélope nightclub. The competition's headquarters are in Benidorm, where most of the matches are played, although some matches will also be held at facilities in La Nucía, Villajoyosa, and El Albir (L’Alfàs del Pi).

The Councillor for Sports, Javier Jordá, expressed his satisfaction that Benidorm is hosting this competition, "which clearly demonstrates our commitment to sports tourism and to holding all kinds of sporting events." He added that this championship "has been organised in major cities around the world and brings prestige to the host city." Jordá also highlighted that "many athletes and their companions will be staying in our city, which is undoubtedly very positive for the sector, which has always been supportive of these types of events."
