The Department of Sports of Benidorm City Council finalizes these days the offer of Summer Sports Courses that will take place in the months of July and August. The councillor of the area, Mariló Cebreros, has indicated that “the planning of the Summer Sports Courses is marked by the sanitary instructions that derive from the Covid-19 crisis and that, among other things, have led us to have to reduce the number of students and adapt the development of the courses to guarantee all the safety and hygiene measures, especially the one related to social distance ”.
In principle, the Multisport School is going to offer, as well as Rhythmic Gymnastics, Kayak, Swimming (children and for people with functional diversity), Skating and Tennis courses. The courses will be weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on the modality. Cebreros has indicated that "we are working to see the feasibility of expanding this initial offer with more courses that are going to be provided by the sports instructors of the City Council", and added that "all the courses are aimed at the child population, given that due to the limitation of participants that imposes the sanitary recommendations we have wanted to concentrate all the resources in the minors of Benidorm that will be distributed by age groups ”.
The councillor explained that the Multisport School, aimed at minors born between 2008 and 2011, will take place in the facilities of Palau d'Esports l’Illa, as well as in Séquia Mare Park. Kayak courses will take place at Club Náutico; while Swimming will be held in the municipal swimming pool of Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor, which opens to the public this Monday, June 21.
The Rhythmic Gymnastics courses will be at Palau d'Esports; and in the skating rink the ones for Children Skating will be held. Finally, Children's Tennis will be taught on the courts of the Sports City.
Cebreros has reported that the first courses will start on June 29 and that the last editions will end on August 21. All information on the calendar of courses, prices and registration will be published in the coming days on the citizen portal of the municipal website: www.benidorm.org.
