The City Council and Telpark offer free electric vehicle charging at three Benidorm car parks
Benidorm City Council, in collaboration with Telpark, the company awarded the contract to manage three public parking lots in the city, will launch a special campaign that will allow residents to charge their electric vehicles free of charge in the Ametlla de Mar, Municipal Market, and Tomás Ortuño parking lots. This was announced by the Councillor for Mobility, Francis Muñoz, who indicated that the campaign will run from October 20 to 26 and that, with it, "we continue to make progress and develop actions to encourage more sustainable and less polluting mobility in our city; in this case, promoting the use of electric vehicles."
The initiative, available for semi-rapid charging, is part of the City Council and the awarded company's commitment to "offer accessible and sustainable solutions for citizens, while contributing to the decarbonization of cities."
To access this free charging service, users must charge through the Telpark app, which allows users to locate available charging points in real time in each parking lot, thus facilitating quick and easy access to the service.
In total, according to the Mobility Councillor, 15 semi-rapid chargers will be offered with power outputs of up to 22 kW, allowing efficient charging for most electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
"This agreement with the City Council is another step in our strategy to facilitate access to electric mobility for all citizens. We want the charging experience to be simple, affordable, and available wherever it is most needed," says Ignacio Merry de Val, COO of Telpark.
The Telpark company manages a total of 655 parking spaces in Benidorm, spread across three public parking lots: Ametlla del Mar, Mercado Municipal, and Tomás Ortuño.
