AUNEX program in Benidorm begins the course with fifty students enrolled
Benidorm University Experience Classrooms (AUNEX) began classes yesterday for the 2025/26 academic year. This year, AUNEX will have fifty students enrolled, 25 of them in the first year and another 25 in the second. Classes will run until May 7 and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the José Llorca Linares Social Centre.
The subjects taught are: "Self-regulation skills and emotional intelligence," "Literature," "The European Union: What is it and what is it for?", "Botany," "Journalism in the face of disinformation and AI," "Art," and "Physiology." Several lecture and seminar series will also be offered.
The AUNEX program is a training project of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, with the collaboration of Benidorm City Council, among others. The main objective is to meet the educational demand and promote the culture and well-being of people over 55 through a curriculum immersed in a university environment, with no prior education required.
The University Experience Classrooms program spans two academic years. Upon completion, students receive a certificate of participation, demonstrating attendance at 80% of the classes taught over the two years. Faculty members will provide the necessary materials to follow the classes, both theoretical and practical.
