Benidorm will renew commissions of services of the Local Police and will request new ones before the refusal of Consellería to extend the interim contracts

10 October 2017
Benidorm renovará comisiones de servicios de la Policía Local y pedirá nuevas ante la negativa de Conselleria a prorrogar a los interinos

The local government wanted to maintain until the end of the year the interim agents of reinforcement of Beaches

Benidorm City Council will renew the three commissions of service of the Local Police that concluded at the end of the month and will call new squares of this same modality, as informed today the councilman of Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez. The municipal government has adopted this decision after the Generalitat Valenciana has transferred that it is not possible to extend the contract to the ten temporary agents who for six months have reinforced the Beach Police Section.

Martinez explained that "our initial intention was for these ten interim to continue in the workforce until the end of the year to provide the greatest possible number of troops to our Local Police in view of the existing vacancies and as we move forward the procedure we have begun to hire and incorporate 20 new agents into the body. "

However, "as according to the Generalitat does not fit this extension, we will propose and adopt alternative measures so that the staff does not suffer from the departure of these agents."

The first of these measures "is to renew, until the existing vacancies are filled, the three service commissions that expired now, something that we already did with five months ago." In parallel "is going to start the procedure to convene more places of this type". Although it has not yet been determined how many commissions are to be called, it is estimated that there could be around ten.

To these measures is added to create, by opposition system, a labour exchange of the Local Police. Martínez has detailed that "with this labour exchange we could cover the current vacancies, and also anticipate the possible consequences that would have on the staff that the new regional law of Police and the General Budgets of the State 2018 contemplates the retirement of agents at the age of 60" .
