The EDUSI project receives the support of the residents in Benidorm
A citizen platform is born through the Neighborhood Council to promote the debate and participation of all neighborhoods
This afternoon the constitution of the Citizen Platform for Support to the EDUSI Project (Strategy for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development) took place in an event that has been staged as the Assembly Hall of the Benidorm City Council with the participation of dozens of members of associations and neighborhood entities of the city.
Through this platform and the 'Edusionate' campaign promoted by the Neighborhood Council, it aims to facilitate citizen participation in the development of a strategic project for a city of future in which municipal services, technicians and external specialists already work. With the intervention of collaborative associationism, dialogue and joint action, this strategy can be elaborated for evaluation by the European Union and its implementation through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The platform was presented at an event in which the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has shared the stage with the member of the Neighborhood Council, Juan Antonio Lizancos; the president of the Benidorm Handicapped Association (ASMIBE), Mª Agripina Fernández and the representative of the consulting firm, Guía Consultores SLP, Jesús Alba. For two hours in the Hall of Deeds have discussed the future strategies for Benidorm based on the project presented last year that included actions worth 23.7 million euros to be made before the end of 2013.
The new project aims to cover aspects such as Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), reduction of CO2 emissions, protection of the environment, efficiency in the use of resources and the promotion of inclusion policies. The EDUSI of Benidorm intends to act on the axis between the avenues of Beniardà and Jaime I, would affect to populous zones like the Colonia Madrid and Foietes, Els Tolls or Alfredo Corral, the perimeter area of the urban helmet of canyons and pinadas parallel to the tracks the 'trenet' and in addition to the green areas of El Moralet i Séquia Mare.
