The citizen collective is constituted this afternoon in the Assembly Hall of the City Council and is linked to the Neighborhood Council and its campaign
A civic platform, born within the Neighborhood Council, will be responsible for promoting citizen participation and debate around the Sustainable and Integrative Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI) project, with which Benidorm aims to receive about 10 million euros from European funds to improve the city and the quality of life of residents and visitors.
The Constituent Assembly of the Citizens Platform to Support the EDUSI Project will be held this afternoon at 7:00 pm in the Assembly Hall of the City Council and all the associations and entities of Benidorm are invited to attend.
As explained by the Neighborhood Council, this platform "is open to all social, cultural, business, sports, neighborhood, trade unions and other groups that want to join and discuss how we want Benidorm to be." Once established, the platform will collaborate with the information campaign 'Edusiónate' set yesterday by the Neighborhood Council and with which it is wanted to take the EDUSI project to the street and to citizens.
The new project in which it is already working, takes as the basis the one presented to the previous EDUSI call and which included actions valued at 23.7 million to be made before December 31, 2023 and aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens . Specifically, they relate to improving the quality and access to information technologies (ICT), reducing CO2 emissions, protecting the environment and resource efficiency, as well as combating inequality and poverty by promoting inclusion policies.
The EDUSI's area of activity is the Beniardá-Jaime I axis, which includes the upper part of Colonia Madrid district, as well as the area of Els Tolls neighborhood closest to the bullring, and the setting of Jaime I with special influence in the sphere of influence of Alfredo Corral. This area is completed with a peri-urban area that encompasses all natural environments of the ravines, the entire area parallel to the TRAM line, the existing parks and also two large green areas: El Moralet and the surroundings of the roundabout the Séquia Mare.
