Benidorm will crown Fátima Carrobles and Anna Calbo as the new queens this Saturday

For the second time, Palau d'Esports l'Illa de Benidorm will host the coronation ceremony for the Queens of the Festes Majors Patronals 2018 in Benidorm, Fátima Carrobles and Anna Calbo, as announced by the councilor of Fiestas , Jesús Carrobles, and the president of the commission, Paco Marín.

"The act of coronation - said Carrobles - is one of the most emblematic" of those organized by the commission and is the "kick-off" of a year of activities in which the members of the commission have been working a month and a half. On Saturday the new queens Fátima Carrobles and Anna Calbo will be delivered the crowns in a ceremony where the outgoing queens, Anna Galiana and Àngela Antón will also participate, as well as the outgoing and incoming courts of honour. Carrobles has advanced that it will be a "daring" coronation because in "just 12 hours you have to dismantle a stage and mount another", which is a "great effort for municipal services" and the involvement of the councils of Fiestas and Sports.

For his part, Paco Marín, announced that the doors of the Palau will open at 18.00 and that it is expected to complete the capacity: 1,500 people. The entrance will be free. The commission has made "a great effort", pointed Marín, to be "a beautiful and endearing act that remains in the memory forever of the 13 small ladies and the 14 young ladies who make up the courts of honor" of 2018 that will access to the stage.

Marín also revealed who will be the maintainer of the act, charge that this year has fallen on "a very special person", the philologist and musician Vicente Pérez Zaragoza, a "young man with great roots in the city and its parties." After the event, the commisson has organized a gala dinner at Hotel La Marina, tickets can be reserved at Casa del Fester.
