Benidorm remembers with a minute of silence the woman and her daughter murdered in El Molar (Madrid)
Benidorm has observed a minute of silence this afternoon in memory of the latest victim of sexist violence in Spain. A 47-year-old Paraguayan woman and her 10-year-old daughter were murdered by her ex-partner in Madrid in the town of El Molar, after shooting them on according to the first investigations. Already in the morning, he wanted to burn down the house and then committed suicide.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez and the Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, have led the silent rally in protest of such a tragic event in which representatives of all the political groups of the corporation, public employees and individual residents have participated.
This is the fifth victim of gender violence in our country so far this year. The Department of Equality, women who are in a situation of danger are reminded that the City Council has specialized personnel to personally attend to each case and insists on the usefulness of the national number against gender violence, 016, which does not leave trace on the phone bill (although it is recommended to delete it after using the phone's registration), which is available in 53 languages 365 days a year.
