Benidorm City Council, following the recommendations of the Ministry of Health on the celebration of mass acts - due to the health situation generated by the coronavirus - and following the actions taken in this regard by the Generalitat Valenciana, has decided to postpone the celebration of the Failures and the most massive acts of the Commemoration of the Patron's Finding planned for the next few days, such as the Offering of flowers or l'Alba.
The Cross del Calvari scheduled for this Sunday is also postponed, and the concert scheduled on Gambo Street on the occasion of the 280th anniversary of the discovery of the Virgen del Sufragio.
These postponements are based on the guidelines transferred by the Ministry of Health, which recommends not holding open-air events in which the concentration of more than 1,000 people is expected, a figure that is exceeded between participants and the public in the events and events indicated above. . This decision has been taken by consensus with the organizing entities of each of them.
With regard to the rest of the events and activities scheduled for the next few days, the organizing entities are asked to contact the corresponding departments before taking any action in this regard.
Deferred events and events will be held as soon as the health situation permits, as reported in the Board of Spokespersons.
Likewise, the City Council wants to convey a message of tranquility and thank the population for following the hygiene and prevention guidelines set by the health authorities, attending only to the information that is disseminated through the official channels of the Ministry of Health, Generalitat Valenciana or the City Council itself.
