Benidorm establishes a Technical Innovation Commission to address technological projects
Benidorm City Council has launched a Technical Innovation Commission, after the plenary agreement of May 25, 2020, to carry out control and analysis in a more transversal way with all the agents and officials involved in the Benidorm projects. This morning the first meeting took place, chaired by the councilor of the department Aida García Mayor, aimed at dealing with a defined periodicity, all those issues, strategies, plans, projects, and actions regarding innovation and technology that arise within the City Council or are present in the synergies that occur in public-private collaboration, trying to promote the latter as much as possible.
The purpose of the Technical Innovation Commission will also be the incorporation of a culture of innovation and the application of technologies in the local administration, adopting a centralized and open management of innovation in Benidorm City Council to comply with the new governance with the innovation axis of the UNE 178501 DTI management system standard, through the development of action plans derived from the Benidorm DTI Master Plan.
The Commission has a technical, informative, consultative, and analytical nature (non-resolution) and will study and assess the needs of the services of the different technical possibilities to provide suitable services and innovative and technological projects, that favor the city of Benidorm in its advancement. as a Smart tourist destination. It will be attached to the Department of Innovation and Quality.
In addition, it will carry out more exhaustive control and share and see the status of each of these projects.
García Mayor explained that the objective is to "unite and concentrate all the activities directed by the common strategy that the city council has towards a DTI and a friendlier city for everyone."
At today's meeting, the 2022 and 2023 Tourism Sustainability Plans were also presented, as well as the actions and monitoring control in Coffee and the Phygital program.
