Benidorm decrees two days of mourning for the death of former mayor José Llorca Cortés
Benidorm City Council has decreed two days of official mourning for the death of former mayor José Llorca Cortés, who died this morning. The mortuary chapel with the remains of the former mayor of Benidorm has been installed in the Funeral Home of La Marina Baixa.
Son of Benidorm, José Llorca Cortes was mayor of the city between May 1977 and April 1978, and provisional mayor between September 1973 and January 1974.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has lamented the loss of José Llorca Cortés, and on behalf of the city has offered his condolences to the family of the deceased.
Subsequently, he has signed the Mayor's Resolution on the official mourning for the death of former mayor Llorca Cortes and for the next two days the City Council's flags will wave at half-mast as a sign of mourning.
The funeral will be held tomorrow, Saturday, January 8, at 11 am, in the Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana.
