After this process, the SPTCV is already in a position to be able to restart the works
Benidorm approves the project for the execution of the first phase of the cultural center
The mayor, Toni Pérez, has announced today that the Councilor for Urban Development, Lourdes Caselles, has signed a decree approving the implementation project of the cultural center of Benidorm once the municipal technicians have reported favorably the document presented by the Society of Thematic Projects of the Valencian Community (SPTCV).
This project of execution includes a first phase of the works, as established in the protocol of intentions signed in June 2017 by the mayor and by the general director of SPTCV, Antonio Rodes. Specifically, this phase of work includes the execution of a smaller room with 546 seats, approved installations for the professional music and dance conservatory, the cafeteria, the treatment of the facades and the roofs of all these areas. An area of action that "in the last two weeks has required, based on the project, an intense and meticulous study on the part fundamentally of the Department of Architecture, in a very close collaboration with the management teams of the two municipal conservatories".
"Now we have to trust that the Generalitat Valenciana will fulfill the commitment that President Ximo Puig personally assumed with the citizens of Benidorm, and that the long-awaited restart of the works will be immediate so that, in the shortest possible time, we can count on these spaces at the service of culture, education, and tourism ", said Pérez.
The mayor recalled that "from the zero minute of the legislature we extended all the collaboration to the SPTCV to unblock the works and try that Benidorm could enjoy at least part of those infrastructures that are absolutely necessary; and also doing it in phases, leaving the door open so that a future government of the Generalitat Valenciana can commit to Benidorm and execute the entire cultural center ".
This coordinated work "has been reflected in the numerous technical meetings that we have held and materialized in the protocol of intentions signed with the SPTCV in June 2017." The mayor stressed that "in all administrative procedures the City has been complying, fundamentally at the time of changing the legal title by which the land was put at its disposal at the disposal of the regional administration."
According to Pérez, it has been "therefore a very intense work, which the City Council has undertaken with the utmost speed", and added that "only the official communication of the Generalitat remains and that the start of the works will be, in compliance with the given, imminent word ".
