Aptur celebrates its 15th anniversary this Saturday in a gala
The Association of Tourist Apartments of Benidorm and the Costa Blanca (Aptur), which includes 43 companies in the sector that manage around 3,000 tourist apartments, celebrates its 15th anniversary this Saturday, December 2, at 20.30 with a special gala in the Casino of the city. This has announced today by the mayor and maximum responsible for Tourism, Toni Pérez, and the president of Aptur, Miguel Ángel Sotillos.
A gala in which, according to the mayor, "in addition to sharing that celebration with the great family of Aptur, we will be able to chat, claim and above all listen", since for any administration the association is "the valid interlocutor at the time to talk about regulated tourist apartments "
Pérez stressed that throughout its career, Aptur has managed to extol a worthy activity, linked to "hospitality" and key in the tourism sector, and highlighted the work of the current board that "is so strong is leading to this association to the level it deserves. "
The president of Aptur, for his part, thanked "the support of the City Council and other administrations for these 15 years," and recalled that the entity was born "to make a common front" that would "put order in the sector" and "Show the public administrations and the society that the rental of tourist apartments is a correct, licit and regulated activity". And also, he added, to "put it in value for what it contributes" to the city, since "most of the consumption of tourists who stay in tourist apartments occurs in local establishments".
Sotillos has ensured that throughout these years, from Aptur have made "realistic and valid proposals" that administrations have been "collecting and implementing little by little"; and has announced that during the gala also "we will ask the attending administrations what the current and future problems are".
To questions from the journalists, he indicated that "the closest thing is the new regional law of the sector, which is in process in the Parliament" and that Aptur has requested unsuccessfully to be modified in several articles. According to Sotillos, the association has already contacted political groups in the Regional Parlament of Valencia "so that through amendment, modify or soften the law", since "in its current wording, they complicate the rent in the Valencian Community".
