13 collections will compete for the prize of the swimwear contest to be held in Benidorm

A total of 13 collections by swimwear designers will opt for the National Design Award for new talents that will be awarded in Benidorm next summer during the celebration of the Mediterranean Fashion Beach (MFB). It is the first time that an event of these characteristics is organized, according to its promoters, the Síntesis agency, aims to "value the excellence of Spanish academic training and give visibility to creativity, innovation, design quality and the talent of the new generations of the fashion sector ". The event will take place in Benidorm, the city that saw the birth of the swimwear icon 65 years ago, the bikini, and the mayor, Toni Pérez had the opportunity to meet the organizers in the last edition of Fitur.

This first edition, endowed with more than 10,000 euros in incentives and prizes, has the collaboration of the Confederation of the Fashion Industry of Spain (ModaEspaña), as well as Dolores Cortés Swimwear; the Higher Design Center of the Polytechnic University of Madrid; Developers of the first Spanish software of fashion design, Apasara Fashion Technology, and by the business school specialized in fashion, Business Fashion School, as well as by the Hotel Meliá de Benidorm. The prize has been announced for new fashion talents residing in Spain and under 35 and has already completed its first phase with the presentation of sketches.

In addition to the National Award for the best collection, an accession will be granted to the two finalist collections and the Benidorm prize for the best bikini. A total of 265 people registered for the contest and at the end of the first phase 448 swimwear designs were received, corresponding to 56 collections, of which and after a first screening, a total of 38 were selected.

After that first deliberation in which the 38 works were selected, the next round was chosen, in which the 13 finalists that will compete in the last phase were chosen. Now the candidates will have to make the collections and have them ready in the next three months, for their approval. The organization will make available to the selected fabrics of Dolores Cortés Swimwear, for the elaboration of the garments.
