The XI International Organ Festival returns tonight to the church of Sant Jaume
The XI International Organ Festival of Benidorm returns tonight to the parish of Sant Jaume in what will be the fifth event of this event. On this occasion, the invited soloists will be Francisco Amaya from Alicante and Francisco Varoch from Valencia.
The first is a superior organ graduate and professor at Torrent Professional Conservatory of Music, as well as director of the Symphonic Band of Bétera Musical Art Center. In 2012 he closed the Organ Music Festival at Westminster Abbey on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Elizabeth II's coronation. He has developed a wide concert career focusing his activity on the dissemination of Spanish Organ Music.
For his part, Francisco Varoch studied at the Conservatory of Music in Valencia and in 1992 moved to Paris to study with Philippe Pierlot. He later continued his studies at the Royal Conservatory in La Haya and has collaborated with numerous prestigious European orchestras, being a permanent guest at the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
Tonight's program is made up of the following pieces: 'Sonata in G Major' by G. Ph. Telemann, 'La Almadrava' by Adolfo Gutiérrez, 'Quartz' by Gabriel Erkoreka, 'Mi Barcelona' by Julio Laporta Hellín, ' Night song' by Carla Rees, 'The garden of Gethsemane' by Edmund Jolliffe, 'Presències d'un instant' by José del Valle and 'Unterbrochene Landschaft' by Yasuko Yamaguchi.
It is recalled that the entrance to the event is free for the public, although it will be limited to the capacity of the venue.
