The mayor and the director general of Tourism check the optimal state of the beaches after the storms

Turismo and Visit Benidorm launch a campaign in RRSS in the United Kingdom promoting the beaches of Benidorm

30 January 2020
Turismo y Visit Benidorm lanzan una campaña en RRSS en el Reino Unido potenciando las playas de Benidorm

In the early hours, the mayor Toni Pérez and the General Director of Tourism Hérick Campos visited the beaches of Benidorm to check the good condition and state of the beaches.

The general director of Turisme pointed out the "important thing to put in value that Benidorm is one hundred percent operational" and that in Benidorm "you can enjoy its beaches and the highest temperature of Spain".

Campos indicated that the Generalitat will evaluate concrete improvements in the beaches of the Region and the Consell will accelerate immediate actions regarding the replacement of material and will propose regeneration processes in some cases. Campos insisted on highlighting "the great performance of Benidorm City Council, flagship of Tourism of the Valencian Community", a benchmark for national and international markets, "more than 90% of English tourism chooses Benidorm."

The mayor of Benidorm thanked the visit of the CEO and stressed that "from the minute one we had been pending and in touch." Toni Pérez, given the current state of the beaches, which he described as "normal", said that "nature has done its job and the City Council has helped a little" to accelerate that work.

Toni Pérez focused the affected area of Levante beach on “a strip of one hundred meters in El Torrejó area” that is traditionally affected in the autumn-winter storms, which the spring ones recover.

And on the beaches of Benidorm highlighted the mayor: “When you respect the nature and dynamics of the coast, when you have beaches that are urban and the urban plot is not there, and the walk has been consolidated for more than six decades, the regeneration capacity is immediate ”.

Finally Toni Pérez highlighted the maximum collaboration with Diputación and Generalitat, the operation of our beaches and their lifeguard services and the prevailing normality.

Between January 15 and February 15 the beaches are emptied of furniture for cleaning and screening operations that the last storm has contributed to its washing and oxygenation function.

Regarding the quantification of damages, Toni Pérez stressed that the calculation of the damage is being carried out but that in no case it will affect reducing all the aid destined to all the beaches of the Valencian Community, thinking of much more affected destinations: “ Benidorm is in support of towns affected by the latest storms and in a more recurrent way ”, sending a message of“ respect for nature ”and remembering“ the impacts are minimized where nature is respected ”.

UK campaign

The General Director of Tourism has stressed that Visit Benidorm collaboration has set aside a game to develop a campaign in RRSS on the real state, suitability and optimal state of the beaches of Benidorm seeking impact and consequences facing the peak of the Vacation shopping for the British.

Campos said that "Benidorm can boast the state of its beaches"
