The Societat Musical La Nova pays homage to festive music with the Festes Majors Patronals concert at the cultural center
Yesterday afternoon, the Symphonic Band of La Nova Musical Society of Benidorm paid homage to festive music with the traditional Festes Majors Patronals concert, held at the cultural center of the city, which once again reached a full house one day after the act presentation of the Llibre de Festes. The Societat Musical La Nova, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, dedicated the concert to the major and child queens of the Festes Majors Patronals.
The event began at 5:30 p.m. under the baton of director Francisco Javier Rovira Peretó. Among the attendees were the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, the councilors of Festivals and Culture, Jesús Carrobles and Jaime Jesús Pérez, members of the municipal corporation, the president of the Commission, José Vicente Fuster, the president of the Associació de Penyes, Adrián Romero, the queens and their court of honor of the Festes Majors Patronals, Aila Merenciano, and Chloe d'Hebboudt, and numerous personalities from local festive music.
The program was divided into two parts. In the first, the symphonic band performed the pasodoble 'El Tito', by Sebastiçan Rubio, the balao 'Linda Mentira' by Ernesto Vázquez, the work 'espremedors' by La Fúmiga, and arrangements by José Beteta, the pasodoble 'Pepe Abellán' by Miguel A. Más and the piece 'Slo Mo' that Chanel took to the Eurovision Song Contest, arranged by Víctor Pérez.
Before the start of the second part of the concert, the president of the Musical Society, Juan Vicente Moreno, presented a gift to the queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Aila Merenciano, and Chloe d'Hebboudt.
The second half of the concert began with the pasodoble 'Sofía' by Josep Cano. This was followed by 'Bendita vida', with arrangements by Vicente Sellés, the pasodoble 'Pablo Muñoz' by Francisco José Rovira Peretó, and the well-known 'I will survive', with arrangements by Jan van Kraeydonck. The program closed with the piece 'Bam Bam', arranged by Víctor Pérez.
