‘Great Recitals’ series offers a concert tomorrow by the duo ‘Miscelánea’
Benidorm Town Hall's Assembly Hall will host another performance tomorrow in the "Great Recitals" series organised by the Department of Culture. The concert, entitled "Echoes of an Anniversary: On Manuel de Falla," will be performed by the duo "Miscelánea," comprised of Alba Signes (violin) and María Eugenia Palomares (piano). It will begin at 8:00 p.m., and admission is free until the hall reaches capacity.
The program will open with Manuel de Falla's "Danza del Molinero" (The Three-Cornered Hat) and continue with Igor Stravinsky's "Italian Suite." The program will include the Introduction, Serenade, Tarantella, Gavotte con due variazioni, Scherzino, Minuetto, and Finale. Next will come Manuel de Falla's "Popular Suite," featuring the pieces "El paño moruno," "Nana," "Canción," "Polo," "Asturiana," and "Jota."
Jaime Jesús Pérez, Councillor for Culture, encouraged "all Benidorm residents to attend this new instalment of a series that has become one of the city's most popular cultural attractions." He also highlighted the "extreme quality" of the concerts that make up the series' program throughout the year.
As for the members of the duo, Alba Signes was born in 1999 in Gata de Gorgos.
In 2007, she began studying violin at the "Tenor Cortis" Professional Music Conservatory in Denia, and in 2016, she completed her professional studies, unanimously receiving the Professional Studies Final Prize. She entered the Óscar Esplá Higher Conservatory of Music in Alicante, where she trained in violin performance and earned several top honours. She has collaborated with and performed in concert programs with the Palau de la Música Orchestra in Valencia and has played with the ADDA Orchestra in Alicante. She is also a member of the Elche City Symphony Orchestra and currently serves as concertmaster of the University of Alicante Philharmonic Orchestra.
María Eugenia Palomares, born in Minglanilla (Cuenca), holds a doctorate in Music from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and is a member of the Valencian Music Academy. She has also been a pianist with Benidorm Choral Group, a member of the Cambra Trio and Turina Trio, and a founding member of Ars Cantica Camerata of Benidorm. Through the Erasmus+ mobility program, she has given masterclasses at the Conservatories of Trieste, Castelfranco, and Udine (Italy), as well as in Mons (Belgium). She belongs to the body of Professors of Music and Arts in the speciality of piano, assigned to Óscar Esplá Higher Conservatory of Music in Alicante.
