The Councillor for Public Service praised the dedication of all the officers who were deployed to the affected area

Paiporta awards 46 police officers from Benidorm Local Police in a ceremony for “their outstanding work in rescue and aid operations” during the DANA storm

05 December 2025
Paiporta reconoce a 46 agentes de la Policía Local de Benidorm por “su destacada labor en las tareas de rescate y ayuda” durante la DANA

Paiporta Local Police, with the support of the local council, awarded 46 police officers from Benidorm Local Police for their outstanding work in rescue and relief efforts during the DANA storm. This recognition took place during a ceremony held this morning at the Valencian town's football field, which brought together more than a thousand attendees, including local police officers, Civil Guard members, and members of Civil Protection. At the ceremony, the Benidorm police officers received the Medal for Professional Merit.

The Councillor for Public Service, Jesús Carrobles, who travelled to Paiporta to accompany the officers, praised "the dedication of all the Benidorm police officers who, entirely voluntarily and selflessly, travelled to the towns affected by the flooding to help in such difficult times."

"It is in these situations that their vocation and commitment to service, as well as their professionalism, are demonstrated," he emphasised. This recognition comes in addition to the one given last November to Benidorm City Council and the city's Local Police in Riba-Roja del Túria.

As previously reported, Benidorm's aid to the affected towns materialised through the deployment of technical and human resources, including up to 158 Local Police services and the work of employees from public concessionaires such as FCC, Actua, and Hidraqua; as well as the shipment of food, essential supplies, and logistical support. Specifically, Benidorm City Council sent up to 116 trucks and vans with aid to various towns in the province of Valencia and deposited €473,230 raised through the #BenidormTeDaMás solidarity bond into the official #SomSolidaritat account.
