Benidorm reinforces security and traffic measures for Holy Week
Benidorm City Council's Department of Citizen Security will reinforce security and traffic measures in the city starting this Thursday, April 2nd, in anticipation of the large influx of people expected in the coming days for Holy Week, traditionally the first major tourist event of the year. This was announced by the councillor for the department, Jesús Carrobles, who indicated that the Local Police will increase their presence in pedestrian areas, with an additional 50 officers and services to ensure that "these holidays pass with complete normality and safety for both residents and visitors."
In addition to the presence in pedestrian areas and other locations with high public gatherings, Local Police officers will also increase their presence on beaches and promenades during this period, as well as their enforcement of regulations regarding practices such as public drinking and the misuse of personal mobility vehicles, Carrobles added.
To coordinate and design this plan, the Councillor for Public Service participated in a security meeting with the Chief Commissioner of the Local Police, José Carlos Amorós, as well as various superintendents and officers of the force. The goal was for the plan to "cover all needs and offer the best possible response to citizens, visitors, and the city itself during these days," he stated.
The operation will begin on Thursday, April 2nd, and will continue until Tuesday, April 7th, after which the number of visitors is expected to decrease.
